November 29, 1944 marks the day of the triumph of the Albanian people, a day that holds irreplaceable values for our national history and conveys to future generations the message of sacrifice and unity for a free and independent Albania. This event represents the culmination of a long and bloody struggle that demanded the sacrifice of many patriots, who fought with courage and determination for the freedom of their homeland. On the occasion of this important anniversary, our project “Albania of the Martyrs” aims to honor the martyrs of the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War (LANÇ) and all the martyrs of the homeland, as well as to promote the patriotic and historical values they represent. This activity also aimed to strengthen the connection between generations and raise awareness among the youth about the contribution of their ancestors in the construction and defense of Albania.
The event was organized on November 20, 2024, and was characterized by broad participation with 500 attendees, including prominent political figures, representatives of central and local institutions, and family members of the martyrs. During the event, an electronic photo-documentary exhibition was displayed, featuring rare historical materials. The activity included a symbolic and artistic program, during which students from the “Qemal Stafa” and “Dora Distria” schools hosted and performed patriotic songs and poems. A highlight of the event was the symbolic handover of the flag from the Chairman of the National Organization of Martyrs to the president of the student government, symbolizing the passing of national values to the new generation.
The “Albania of the Martyrs” project was a success thanks to close cooperation with organizations and support from local and central authorities. The dedication and symbolism of this activity conveyed powerful messages about the importance of preserving national values and heritage. The goal of making such activities a tradition will help preserve national identity and strengthen the bonds between generations.
