Implementation Period: June 2022 – September 2022
The project, financially supported by the “National Youth Congress,” aimed to promote the rich history, cultural heritage, and natural beauties of Tirana, while also creating a magazine containing information and photographs of Tirana, offering a dignified presentation for tourists visiting the city. The materials for the magazine were prepared by a team of experts, including photographers who captured the most beautiful views of Tirana, as well as historians and cultural heritage experts who documented the most important dates and facts in the city’s history. Special attention was also given to the rich cuisine of Tirana and the wonderful combination of the rural and urban parts of the city. Through this magazine, tourists have the opportunity to discover the hidden treasures of the city, from cultural and historical landmarks to the natural landscapes surrounding it. The magazine is also available electronically in both English and Albanian.
A key aspect of the project has been the involvement of young people in promoting Albanian culture and traditions. Wearing traditional costumes from different regions of Albania, they worked diligently on the ground, welcoming and informing tourists. The involvement of young people in tourist guides was particularly significant, as it brought numerous benefits to both sides. Firstly, they brought youthful energy and enthusiasm, which positively influenced the tourists’ experience. Being engaged in tours, they were able to convey their passion for the local history, culture, and traditions, making the experience livelier and more enjoyable for the visitors.
On the other hand, this involvement helped young people develop professional skills. Through interaction with foreign tourists, they improved their foreign language communication skills, learned to manage different situations, and gained practical experience in the tourism sector, one of the most important industries for the economic development of our country.
