Schools for Health

On April 25, ASET Center organized the closing event of the project “Schools for Health” in cooperation with Save the Children and supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

The main goal of this project is to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles among children aged 6–15 in Albania, as a means to prevent and control the main risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs). At the conclusion of the fourth year of the project’s implementation (March 2024 – February 2025) by Save the Children, ASET Center organized an interactive workshop with representatives of civil society organizations, local professionals, and individuals engaged in the field of health and well-being. Participants included social workers, school psychologists, nurses, and other experts from relevant fields, who actively contributed to the exchange of knowledge and experiences. At the end of the training, all participants received a certificate.

The workshop focused on several key topics such as healthy nutrition, physical activity, mental health, hygiene, and sexual and reproductive health. The activity served as a platform for dialogue, cross-sector collaboration, and co-creation of awareness-raising messages that will be used in future community campaigns.

Participants emphasized the importance of an inclusive approach and underlined the need to continue such initiatives in schools and beyond, empowering local actors to promote a healthy lifestyle in the community, especially among children and young generations.
