The First National Meeting of School Health Coordinators

On September 9, 2025, ASET Center successfully organized the First National Meeting of School Health Coordinators (School Nurses), as part of the second phase of the “Schools for Health” project. This event brought together 91 professionals from across the country, including school nurses and representatives from Local Healthcare Units, creating a space for collaboration, exchange of experiences, and strengthening of professional networking on school health.

The meeting opened with remarks from representatives of key partner institutions such as the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Sports, Healthcare Services, the Embassy of Switzerland, and Save the Children. Following this, the School Health Coordinators’ Manual was presented— a practical tool designed to strengthen the role of school nurses and standardize the provision of healthcare services within school settings.

Participants took part in training sessions focused on first aid and emergency response, as well as on comprehensive care and support for children with disabilities. The discussions were lively and reflected the strong commitment of school nurses to improving school health services, enhancing safety, well-being, and health awareness among children.

This event marks an important step towards the institutionalization of the role of school health coordinators, laying the foundation for a more sustainable, inclusive, and structured model of healthcare for students. It represents an opportunity to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation, raise community awareness, and ensure higher standards in the delivery of school health services. ASET remains committed to supporting the capacity-building of professionals and contributing to the improvement of school health nationwide, while also promoting children’s health as a top priority.
